It's been a while since I've sat down to write here in this little corner of my website. I've taken a few trips with my family and have enjoyed a bunch of fun photo sessions with wonderful people. It would be a total understatement to say that I have "good" clients. Man. You guys are the BEST. It's such an encouragement to be in the presence of truly solid people who live happy and love big.

My most recent session: smash cake. One of my absolute favorites! They even got the dog involved and it was awesome.

Also, my own little boy turned 2 recently. He is a HAM. Completely.

Lastly, the 4th of July is upon us. Feeling spontaneous and motivated, I did a bunch of DIY projects on set stuff this past week. My daughter tested out my new backdrop stand and fabric banner for me. I'm so happy with these photos and I had no expectation for how pretty they would turn out! I can't wait to use these and more props to come for my July sessions.

For now, I'm signing off to get some rest. May you have a blessed weekend with the ones you love most!

I sat down this evening in a room of open windows, dimming gradually with the setting sun.  Loving this moment, it's so clear what my blog post should bring you this week.  There are two photos that I keep coming back to and here I am, revisiting them again even though the tiny humans in the pictures are playing and living right in front of me, right along with me.

These kids.  We spend our days together.  Any hour that they wake in the night, they know I'm here.  I get to be the first to greet their sweet faces every morning.  I'm their mama; the one they make bead necklaces for, the person they want when they are in pain, the lady who can fix anything.

I know it all sounds dreamy and unrealistic, so know that my kids do try me.  They are emotional and demanding.  They are a lot of work.  In the face of it all, I am happy and honored to be the worker, because the Maker blessed me with these two lovely, tiny (for now) humans to raise up for His glory.

So Happy Easter (a few days late) from my littles and me.  May the light of Christ shine through you and yours!

A few things happening this week.....

I'm loving how March is shaping up!  I have so much catching up to do with photo processing, and I'm happily seated in a windowed corner of Starbucks right now to do it.  I cannot tell you how grateful I am to take your family photos.  As I go through these, my heart is happy.  Truly, it is an honor (and so much fun) to freeze-frame the ages and stages of so many wonderful people!

Next, I have been on the search for a reasonably-priced logo design/designer.  I know it takes work and lots of time and tons of talent, so it's worth the price point.  I just haven't been particularly struck by anything I've seen.  My husband casually suggested that I try to make it, myself.  After playing around a bit with different fonts and styles, I came up with this:

And I LOVE IT.  It's pretty much exactly what I had in mind.  To have a man in my life who has ideas without boundaries has served me well.  This is such a small example of what he's offered as a best friend and hubs.  Our best memories are his crazy ideas, and sometimes our most productive moments are a result of that same no-impossibles mindset.

In wrapping up this gratitude post, I think about the weeks to come with more lovely families in front of my camera.  Again, thank you.  You are the heart of it all!

Now I'm off to plaster my new logo on everything :)
